I am proud to announce that Indian Idol blog has a new home. Please follow the to get latest update on not only Indian Idol 2 or the 2nd Indian Idol reality show but latest updates for Indian Television too.
After 7 months of hard work and beating 1000's of contestants, Abhijeet is THE Indian idol. No doubt, he is going to be a part of our life for ever now due to his immense talent and the bright future that is awaiting for him. No doubt some day we will be hearing songs of Abhijeet with Kavita krishnamurthy or Lata mangeskar. Now what is next in store for him is very exiting.
The popularity of the Indian idol finals could be thought of with the number of sms that reached some where near to 3 crores. Now finally sony tv has something to be proud of with the long awaited success with this. The point is how it is going to milk the success of Indian idol the most popular show ever staged on sony.
It will also be interesting, how the other contestants of Indian Idol like Paul, Rahul, Prajakta etc is being taken by the bollywood and the music industry. I am sure many of them might have signed several contracts by now. In addition, most of us will be eager to hear our favorite Ravinder Ravi. Several people gave me a mail that they want to donate something for Ravi for his future, but I would say that don't pity on him. He will also make it and just your good wishes would be enough for his success.
Today I would ask everybody to comment on this posting with your name. I would post first 4 lines of your comment here. You could also include your mail id with comment if you wish.
The comments of visitors:
sunnyg Its too difficult!!! i think even abhijeet and Amit can't decide who is the best...Abhijeet is my all time favorite but today's Amit's performance has forced me to vote for Amit more than Abhijeet...well done. no matter who wins, we hav some fantastic singers to hear in the form of these two
Zeenita Amit outsung Abhijeet today. He stole the show and I saw a lot of feeling in Amit's performance. All three rounds to Amit I say!!!
Namrata Agarwal Abhijeet is a complete package of INDION IDOL!!! He desreves to be INDION IDOL!!!
Mostaque Abhijeet is the Indian Idol. He is outstanding in his performance. Amit is not far way from Abhijeet. I think, this is 52% for Abhijeet and 48% for Amit. Indian actually gets two great singer who has there own natural voice. Mostaque, ahmedmanik@yahoo.com, Dhaka, Bangladesh
Gaurav Outstanding, mind blowing, out of the world. That was Sana today.
Ravi Abhijeet, Rahul were good but Amit showed that he was a class apart.
Naureen After watching the grand finale strongly felt that most of the judges and anchors were biased in their comments and attitudes towards Amit Sana.Sometimes it was like they were campaigning for him more than commenting. I think both Amit and Abhijeet sang extremely well and it will be a very tight contest. But I really feel sorry for Abhijeet. It must have been hard for him to accept the judges’ discriminatory attitude.
sudhanshu both were really good.. as a pure singer, Amit is better but as a whole package(as sony always said its not only a singing compition)Abhijeet is far ahed(if it had been SA RE Ga Ma.. then Amit would have been the winner. sonu anu and farah were with Amit though he couldn't sing the last portion of the third song properly
Kiran if its singing competition then Amit is at least 100 Km ahead from Abhijeet. But we are looking complete package so Abhijeet overshadows amit sana in various aspects. especially Abhijeets expressions in all three songs..it really gave goosebumps . Ofcourse, all of us are confused to whom should we choose Indian Idol? My vote is for ABHIJEET !! if you have any comments kindly mail me at neo601@gmail.com
Vinay Both have Song Very well. But the last song Abhijeet has song better than Amit. So I will give my vote to Abhijeet.
Satvik After watching the final strongly felt that judges (Sonu & Farah) and anchors were biased in their comments towards Amit Sana.Sometimes it was like they were campaigning for him. I think both Amit and Abhijeet sang Very well and it will be a very tight contest. But I feel Abhijeet is better than Amit. Abhijeet voice has a sweetness But Amit voice not at all.
Kubra Amit Sana...any time...He has got a wonderful voice quality and is immensely an excellent singer and very consistent... Has appeared in bottom three very rarely compared to Abhijeet Sawant.
Kiran Yup these judges are really biased..they glorified Amit Sana's performance too much. both sang well ...but if u see judges choice round. The song given to Amit is high pitch, latest and popular song. Abhijeet got a choclate and bit old song where he could not show much of his quality. But still i feel he gave best treatment to the song. in last song Amit tried to show his talent with voice variations which was not required. The neo601@gmail.com
Jaya Both Amit and Abhijeet have done well. Both of them are different types of singers. Amit is very perfect in his Sur , Taal and in his musical talent. Abhijeet is also good but definitely comes behind Amit. Abhijeets advantage is his unique voice but I think it will suit only a few type of songs - romantic and soft. Amit's voice is versatile. It can suir all types of songs and he sounds younger also.....
Kiran Reply to: sudhanshu Yup these judges are really biased..they glorified Amit Sana's performance too much. both sang well ...but if u see judges choice round. ahsan indian idol is for finding the best singer, i repeat SINGER from india. now someone tell about package. but this is not a beauty contest competition. From the indian idol 100% marks for AMIT SANA as a SINGER 70% + 30% marks for ABHIJEET as for MODEL (70%) + SINGER (30%) now is upto YOU, weather u wanna to find INDIAN's INDIAN IDOL or something else called package.
Harry Today Final I felt both are Song Very well. First two song both area song very well. But the last song Abhijeet has song better than Amit. I don't why amit has song this song in western style. It's was so odd to here. The judges i don't know why they are giving such good comments for this type of song. I know the Farah knowldege of siningng is 0%.
Sohin Why not all these Kaua lovers in the name and guise of Amit Sana Fan club go to some pure music base programme like SaRe GaMa to find and exult their hero like Ameet Sana who has nothing in the department of personality?! That would end this horror named Amit Sana surpassing like of Rahul Vaidya and Prajkta, who were 1000 times more personable and even in music department were almost equal. ....
Chinaswamy Today in the final gala Amit Brother has told that his brother amit has given just 30% And 70% he will give after the 1 Crores. So his brother is also not like his yesterdays performance.
Pranjali Today, both of them sang very well, but Abhijeet took over by 3rd song which was the best performance of THE whole Indian Idol programme.
SATISH Reply to: Sohin My veiws are not as extreme as Sohin. But Abhijeet is complete Idol compared to Amit sana. Now at this stage we should consider everything not only singing. You all must have seen how Amit sana was playing Cricket :) somebody is saying about Viva and Aasma..but i feel singing class of Aasmaa and Viva is not comparable with these two guys..these two are way ahead of them. asatsi@yahoo.com
Anwesha Ghosh Both the contestants performances were outstanding, though I must say that judges and anchors were clerly partial towards Amit Sana. To me ABHIJEET is the right person amongst the two to be crowned "INDIAN IDOL". anwesha28@yahoo.com
virender kumar At this stage it is very difficult to judge both the singers, but i would vote for Abhijeet only and he should be the Indian Idol
Sanjana Amit showed yesterday what it is like to push the limits, He showed he could do it , bring his own trademark to the songs he was given,,, Abhijeet was ok but i think he became a victim to complacency --- I made people sit up and notice him specially those who thought he was not competition to Abhijeet . Vote for Sana -
Renu I think Amit deserve to the Indian Idol. I dont think looks are more inportant that singing as nobody will see you when you are singing in the background. What important is you singing. You are not performing to be a actor or a model.... you are performing to become a signer.
Mona Its SANA all the way...we need new face new voice for new generation..we don't need kumar sanu oops i mean Abhijeet :)
Rajni Amit Sana is a fighter..even though people root more for Abhijeet..amit sana knowing this gave him a tough competition. It shows his capability to learn and grow as a singer. As far as looks are concerned thats a secondary issue.Things like that can be easily changed these days, you can see it happen in this show itself. AMIT SANA- My Indian Idol.
Puneet Both Amit and Abhijeet were too good. We have got 2 amazing singers.. Amit has been my fav all throught out Indian Idol and on grand finale he outsung Abhijeet marginally.. All the best to both.. Puneet
It was ok and the best have won. But, what I did not liked was comment from Abhijeet at today India Idol show, "Rahul is better then me". So many Indians have shown faith in him and above all if you think that the man in front of you is better, then why to compete with him. Abhijeet, believe in yourself as Indian have said that you are the best and that means you are THE BEST.
Now I only look forward to the finals of Indian Idol. I think it will be one of the toughest comptetion ever seen on Indian television, where the deserving and the best will be in front of one another. Lets all wait with fingures crossed.
Today, Abhijeet performance was above par and I am sure if he enters the bollywood right now, he would give the best of singers run for their money. Now, it does not matters who wins the Indian Idol but after hearing criminal song "Tum mile" from Abhijeet, I am assured once again that he is the best.
Amit Sana was also good today and as usual, Rahul sang like a mimicry artist, a copycat of Sonu Nigam. Sudhesh Bhosle is enough and we don't want another like him. Anybody comes out of Indian Idol as a winner; I just want he should have a voice of his own. If Abhijeet is not in the finals then there is no point in watching Indian Idol anymore. I think most of you would agree. :)
Abhijeet was no doubt the best. I am not sure how he did all this but there is a sea change in the quality and variation in the singing style of Abhijeet at Indian Idol. He is no doubt the Indian Idol for me as of now.
Amit Sana is a very good singer but it was evident today that he has a bad throat. I would rate him with Abhijeet.
Rahul was good but not as like the other 2 male singers. He must try to sing in his own voice and should not try to emulate someone else.
Prajakta was very bad today and she is for sure going out tomorrow.
Visitors for my blog have made me realise with their mails that the show must go on and I should follow Indian Idol till the last episode. Now lets start it with the mails I got:
I support your view fully. Unfortunately, our so-called judges want to show that western attitude. Indian Idol is not about looks but the voice. Something, which should attract everyone. In American Idol, twice the blacks have won the idol. However, unfortunately in India it is discrimination between high society and low...Even though he was a painter he did work hard. Maybe he was not fit to be an idol but that does not mean he has to be ill-treated. In fact, Sonu has no right to say to him that he is the cause for the good singers getting out. Otherwise, why will he get out? Believe me.. Music doesn’t mean Hindi, it also includes a lot of languages from north and south.. I hope he does come up in the later stages becoz of his voice. He surely cannot afford training becoz of his financial status. but appreciate him becoz he worked hard.
I hope in future Indian Idol select more experience judges like Alka Yagnik or experience Music Directors like...... Gulzar , Javed Akhtar and not judges who go for color of skin or looks of mod...I wish the others the best of luck for the rest of the episode. Ramya
Your ideas about Ravinder are correct he was a great singer. I also didn’t like the judges attitude towards him, a person from such a humble background could do so much was really commendable. I am also very upset but just do let me know if possible is he going back to the same life or will he get sufficient money to improve his lifestyle & see better days. Arati
Indian idol is great show except the hyperbolic comments of judges. They shower so much praise on some of their favorites and criticize too much the poor Ravinder. I feel the judges and host show some respect for the participant who has reached the level of last five. This is indirectly a insult to viewers who have voted Ravinder till last five rounds. It is true then Ravinder was better than Prajakta in last round where he lost to Prajakta. I respect his maturity and patience and wonder how the other participants will keep thier moral high if such nasty unwanted comments are passed against them.I personally feel for some types of songs Ravinder's voice is best among all the contestants and his handwork and luck will help him to come at the top. Sanjay Malpe Nagpur
Why u and others like u, making joke of the show. At last Ravi is out, he no deserving contestant in Indian Idol and should be there in last 30. He is not trained and a painter, that pitiable point...what Indian immaturities. he has no sur and versatility. Many suffered not becoz of him but bcoz of fools voted for him. Sony has made a mistake of sending multiple votes by one rule. if u a music lover, u should have knowledge of music...! What a joke with other talents! The Karvs My Thoughts: Who brought Ravinder in first 10? It was these judges only. So why this much shout that he was not deserving and he should be in last 30. This seems sticky.
Its very hard to understand Indian audience mood. But, lets give full respect to the choice for making it last episode for Ravinder ravi. He would not be there to entertain us from next week. I always loved his voice quality. I think this week, he was better than Prajakta.
Anyways, I think "Indian Idol" from now on would become a programme people would definitely see but dont know if they would have same emotions and enthusiam attached to it.
Looks like this is going to be my last blog. This blog site, therefore, stands closed as Ravinder was a very strong contender for Indian Idol for me.
God bless Ravinder Ravi!
Thanks to all of you for taking active participation in my blog!
First the ranking. Abhijeet is really a surprise as every week he is getting better and better. In the begining I never noticed him but since patriotic song week he has come par with Amit Sana. Today my ranking goes like this: 1. Abhijeet & Amit Sana 3. Rahul 4. Ravinder 5. Prajakta
Rahul was very good today. Only drawback he had was, whenever I listen to his songs, I feel I have heard this voice somewhere. In Indian film Industry, we have several singers who could sing like Rafi. What we need more is original voice i.e somebody like Udit Narayan. Abhijeet and Amit Sana has that in them.
Ravinder was also very good today but again :( reviews from the judges. Now, that doesn't matters. Prajakta was ok today but I rate Ravinder above then her. Lets see what happens tomorrow.
I started the blog with an intention to have a healthy discussion on Indian Idol. I think I have succeeded in it a bit. Now, I could see that we have 2 groups between us. One who respect the people verdict and support Ravinder as he is, and the other group which speaks more like all the 3 judges at Indian Idol.
What majority of people think is always not right and what expert think too is always not true or else we would not had a star like Amitabh Bachchan. Remember, he was thrown out of every directors office as they thought he could not act or he did not had face for camera. 1 director gave him chance and people made him star overnight. 10's of so-called expert directors rejected him and people accepted him in one go. Now in Indian Idol, if people are voting for Ravinder, there might be something in him other then financial background (suggested by most of the visitors). Experts can miss that SOMETHING.
All Individuals and Shows get SUCCESS through people’s opinion all over the world and India is no exception to this. People of India alone have given success to famous singers like Lata, Asha, M. Rafi, Mukesh. to today’s Sonu Nigam. Whatever marks Sonu Nigam might have got from Judges he would not have reached the position where he is today without peoples liking for him. He and Anu Malik attained today’s fame because people liked them. When selection of Indian Idol is left to people of India we should honor their decision as we have honored in the past without any discrimination and should not blame Ravinder Ravi for the failure of the outgoing participants at Indian Idol. Despite objectionable comments by all the three judges of the competition since last couple of shows, Indian Public is consistently choosing Ravinder Ravi at Indian Idol because they like him. All the judges should try to understand this truth and honor the public opinion instead of influencing the public voting through imposition of their views.
Cheer up Ravinder Ravi, be confident, look confident on the stage, and never forget Indian Public because they like you.

Indian Idol - A Great Concept - Do we understand it however?
Indian idol started with the idea of selecting one singer among the thousands of contestents. However, the point to note is it was like any other show upto the selection of best thirty candidates wherein judges shortlisted the contestents. Then, came the real fun! Upto this point, it was like any other show such as the famous one, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
So, people lets understand that this is no more sa re gama pa where in variety of judges shortlist and make one singer as topmost singer out of competition that spans over months.
Now, Indian idol is all about indian audience. Is there any reason why one movie hits and other flops? Could anybody site any reason? It is totally incomprehensible and left many film producers and directors guessing all the time and making mistakes quite often in their judgement.
Indian idol programme is not about music competition any more. It means much more than that.
I have always been fan of Aditi. But since she didnt sung well, she got voted out. Now, for god sake, dont blame Ravinder for this. If Farha Khan wants to blame, blame India and Indian audience. I always voted for Amit Sana/Abhijeet this week. However, I respect indian audience choice.
Lets all respect that and understand clearly that what indian idol programme is all about.
If you want good singers, arrange another programme with variety of judges for that and don't allow india to vote. If we are expecting India to be of Anu Malik or Sonu Nigam type who are so expert with music, we are somewhere wrong in making our expectations! Let's retrospect.
Poor Ravinder Ravi with great potentials! God bless him!
I don't know what judges are saying, the so-called Judges at Indian Idol. Give Ravinder a break. He is just a painter and not a criminal. Every of the panelist just bully him and thus he seems very uncomfortable on stage. Today Farah khan commented "The Indian Idol has to represent India at International scene". I could say that any Indian could represent India and she has no rights to comment like that. She should be ashamed of it. I know what she meant by that. The so-called educated class mentality. A painter could not represent India internationally. So, get someone from Infosys or Wipro.
I think Ravinder has a very clear voice and if he is trained a bit he could be a better singer then anyone in Indian Idol. Indian idol is all about people choice and if people are voting for Ravinder then what is the problem in it. I see nothing so shocking in it. If you wanna add your article here, just give me a mail on amitabhseo@gmail.com
Aditi is a great singer. I think the choice for her song was not good, that cost her seat at Indian Idol. Indian idol is all about how you perform in THE day and Aditi was not good yesterday. Though, if we see her performance as a whole then it is difficult to believe that she is out.
It is not about who becomes Indian Idol now as if you are good, you would be picked by the music directors anytime. So as the finals are approaching, we should be ready to take more shocks. Best of luck Aditi, as if you are good you will still get what you want.
Aditi was not so good but don't know why judges did not comment on that at Indian Idol. Abhijeet was best. My ranking for the contestent are:
1. Abhijeet 2. Amit Sana 3. Rahul 4. Ravinder 5. Prajakta 6. Aditi
I think judges are a bit partial and always say good words for girls though they were not so good today. Ravinder is improving by every week. I voted today for Abhijeet and Ravinder
It seems that Kishore Kumar songs are toughest to sing and that too when composed by the great R. D Burman. No singer at Indian Idol today performed as expected. Dear participants, yoodleeyoo can only be best sung by Kishore that is why it was never been tried. Most of the singers at Indian Idol tried to emulate him but I am sorry to say that they all failed.
Amit Sana the best singer so far was ok but he was also not that comfortable today. However, I liked Abhijeet and I am not sure why Sonu and Annu Mallik was against him. Prajakta was also good and I would say that she is a very Versatile singer. Ravinder was surprise package of the show today. I like Ravinder for his crystal clear voice, and today he proved that with a bit of guidence and practice, he could become a great singer.
Aditi seemed a bit overconfident. Be aware Aditi, as overconfidence does not go well with Indian audience. She sang very badly today. I think she should only choose Lata songs and avoid Asha songs altogether.
By far The safe list for me are: Amit Sana Prajakta Ravinder Abhijeet
I am infected with Indian Idol BUG, what about you. As Sony puts it for Indian Idol contest "Sab kuch bhula de", is very true. As we all know that we Indians have a soft corner for light and sweet music which is there in tons at the show. Indian Idol is a desi version of American Idol that is being aired at Star World whose last year winner was Fantasia Barrino and his albums after that were I Believe, Chain of Fools, and summertime. Indian audience love this type of shows which could be seen by huge success of Antyakchari which is being aired till date on Zee Tv. Don't miss any of the Indian Idol episodes and get INFECTED. :)
If anybody of you remembers, Amit Sana came to finals of INDIAN IDOL with a great difficulty and he was written off much before the finals started. Farah remarks were sometimes not very heartening which were made on his appearance.
In one of the promos, she says "CD ke kavar par aayega to kaisa lagega" (for somebody else though). Farah, I don't know for what this Indian Idol is but if he is going to record a CD then people will never buy a CD by its looks but they will always go for what is there in it.
This is a music award and people should only vote from heart - 10% and ears - 90% for Indian Idol Participants. Nearly all the contestant are not from very well off families and they did not had any formal training. Just give each of them some training and they will be kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam of tomorrow. Each of them has the potential to be there, but my fovorite is "AMIT SANA". By the way I am too Amit(no favors though).
The warmth, great smile of Juhi Chawla as a special judge at Indian Idol gave a new glamour to Indian Idol. Juhi Chawla gave a very warm and heartening comment to every contestant. We all know that Juhi Chawla is a great actress but what we don't know is that she is a trained singer too.
With her comments, it was very evident that she felt the importance of the situation and the pain and effort the participants were putting in the highly popular event. During my college days, I was a great fan of Juhi Chawla. She is one of the actress whose talent is not fully explored. I was very impressed by her Teen Diwarain. Juhi, we want more of that kind of movie from you.

The Hosts for Indian Idol : Aman Yatan Verma & Mini Mathur
Aman Yatan Verma son of Col Yatan Kumar Verma is one of the most special part of Indian Idol. Aman Yatan Verma is MBA in Finance from Delhi University, and is a diploma holder in journalism. If I give points for success of the Indian Idol then I would say 3/10 to Aman. He is one of the television’s hottest star and great host. As far as hosting of game shaws goes, I put him just behind Amitabh(KBC). He came to everybody home with Khul Ja Sim Sim.
Mini Mathur an MBA, MTV VJ looks charming on the show. Her spontaneity on Indian Idol is just great. She is a perfect choice for the hostess of the Indian Idol with her girl-next-door looks and great personality.

The Judges for Indian Idol: The great music show from India
My favorite and I love his songs and put him just after Kishore kumar. It is difficult, but Sonu Nigam has proved it that you could be successful in both Indipop and Play back singing. Sonu Nigam son of Agam Kumar a music enthusiast was born in Faridabad, Haryana. Sonu had a long struggle period and his carrer took of with when he was spotted by Gulshan Kumar and sang Achha sila diya tune mere pyaar ka from movie Bewafa Sanam.
He become more famous with Saregama a singing competition show on Zee TV. Sandese aate hain was his first major hit, which were chart busters for a long time. After that, he is growing every day and I wish we would be getting best songs from him in near future too. Sonu, please do more albums too as they are the one which I like most.
Anu Malik
Plagiarizing and rehashing tunes is some of the things critics say about Anu Malik but the truth is that he is one of the most sought music director in the film industry now. Son of great music director Sardar Malik, Anu Malik's debut film was Aapas Ki Baat.
The turning point in his career was much later with Radha Ka Sangam followed by Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi which brought much of critical acclaim. After this, there was no looking back.
Farah Khan
One could say that innovation in dance direction was brought first by Farah Khan in India. She not only does dance direction for her numbers but also take a major seat in determining camera movements, camera angles, set design and even costumes.
She is one of the most successful dance directors in Indian film industry today. Some of her great work could be seen in Dil To Pagal Hai, Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Dil Se and Monsoon Wedding.
